With the waning days of summer slowly coming to a close, the world prepares itself for the most important part of the year. Not, not a time when peace negotiations pick up or budget talks resume. Not when humanitarian third-world rescue efforts pick up or green agricultural intitiative take effect. No, it’s something far more important than that.

Hockey. It’s the sport you always forget about until you catch a game on ESPN and remember that it’s kind of awesome. Reviews are slowly starting to trickle in for this year’s iteration of the EA Sports franchise and all signs are pointing to GOAAAAAALLLLLLL.

Let’s face it: there may not even be an NBA season this year, so you’re gonna have to go somewhere to get your basketball fix. Why not turn to this year’s version of 2K’s NBA series? Last year saw the inclusion of the game’s greatest player ever — Michael Jordan — in a stunning game that many consider the greatest b-ball game ever created. How are they going to top it?
